Hi,

I'm a brand new user of the ThumbDV, but not new to Dongles in general. While I can get my DV3K dongle to work with BlueDV, I cannot say the same about my ThumbDV which just came in the mail today.

Seeing as I could not get BlueDV to work, I decided to try something more basic and quit BlueDV and then ran ThumbTest.exe from the console. Note that I am running this under Administrator access which should be able to see the serial ports, no matter what. Using COM9 and baud rates of 460800 and even 230400 (in case this was an older model), it was not returning back valid information on the console.

Here is a screen capture of running ThumbTest.exe



According to Windows Device Manager, I am running FTDI Driver on COM9 with a Driver Date of 8/16/2017 and Driver Version of 2.12.28.0.

What am I missing here to make this work under Windows 10?

Also, I can try testing on a Linux environment on another computer. Are there testing instructions for Linux?

AMBEserver is pretty distribution agnostic.  Just give it a try.  Build from source.  Debian 9 and Raspbian Buster are pretty much the same.

Sorry... i had a typo in my previous post... i am using 3101 not 3108.
So that is not the issue...

Any other ideas why DMR is not working?


UPDATE - SOLVED
i checked my settings so many times and never noticed that one digit in my DMR-ID was missing...

It seems that I cannot locate IRCDDBGateway. It is not included in the Amateur Radio package list either for the Raspberry pi or for Ubuntu. Neither do the terminal-based instructions in the document DV3000.pdf work. This is what happens:

3108 Master has been discontinued. 3101, 3102, and 3103 are the current BM USA masters.

I forgot to mention, when I first attempted to download and run the ambesocketest.py file from https://github.com/dl5di/OpenDV/tree/master/DummyRepeater/DV3000, it wouldn't execute. It turns out that it's misspelled. Instead of ambesocketest.py, it's ambesocktest.py. It's also misspelled at the bottom of the page as ambesockettest.py. The file from the Groups.io file repository is spelled correctly.

I always start with a fresh install of the latest version of Raspbian, now Buster.

e:  unable to locate package ambeserver

I searched the raspbian package list for ambeserver without success. 

Any suggestions?

The thunb dv lets you you use your microphone off your computer to talk , it will not recieve from radio .
