Re: BlueDV Windows for ThumbDV

Hello

That is correct if you select XLX in Fusion.

When you select YSF and then XLX051, it will connect. I just tested.

The reason:

XLX database does not contain the connecting port and always uses port 42000. I think that XLX051 uses port 42001 or 42002.

David, good afternoon, because through fusion I can't connect to the XLX051 with the new Fusion?
Through Pi-star and DVlink you can enter the xlx051.
Thank you.

I don’t know if this is where we should post issues found.     If you are like me,  you’d almost rather not hear about them. 😊
But what I’ve found is,  you can’t select the Audio Input or Output device until you have already connected.   Once I enabled serial and then disabled it,  I was able to select an audio device.

I've got the test version going too, and so far I only found two cosmetic issues. The Fusion status box has intermittent red during sending when it should be continuous, and when connected to an echo room the call line in the status box showed random garbage instead of my call. That's all I've spotted so far, but I'm making notes for David as I test.

The entry should be in the DMR+ pull-down menu if you entered that line correctly in the HBLink.txt file. If the filename is still HBLink.txt.example (all three words, separated by periods), then it WILL NOT WORK. You have to rename the file to REMOVE the word "example" from the end and the period between it and the "txt", so it just says "HBLink.txt".

Here's a video showing how to rename a file in Windows 10.  https://youtu.be/jXd0yFHRM24

Just a thought but wouldn't it be safer to create a brandmeister.network self-care account, create a custom password and use that instead?  Seems like anyone could just grab a random DMR ID/callsign and use it to talk with the default brandmeister password instead right? I changed mine to my own password and that's the only way I can log into a master server now and that makes me feel better.  Or am I completely wrong?

Re: dutch-star.eu

There is a gentleman named Doug McClain ( AD8DP ).  A really good guy.   He is working on something  similar to BlueDV.     He calls it DudeStar.

It works pretty well as far as I can tell.   But there are many areas where he’s still working on it.   It is still pretty beta at this point.

There is  a Windows build of it available on GitHub.

Thanks!

Kevin, correct just rely on the OS native FTDI and I do use the USB-c adapter.  I have a port expander I use especially to give me an hdmi port.  Using the USB ports on it for the thumb drive don’t work, but using just the c adapter does.

Hi Ted,  don’t know exactly what you mean by an extender. MacBook Pro has USB-C only ports, so one must use a USB-C to USB-A adapter in order to plug it in.

Also not sure how to identify a FTDI conflict In OSX. Based on the system report I shared above it looks like it’s being seen by the OS. I read you’re not supposed to load FTDI’s drivers on a Mac, just let the native driver in OSX take care of it.  I was hoping to simply run this on my Mac laptop without doing Ambe servers on a Raspberry Pi.  We’re not all software gurus, hi hi. Perhaps I just need to be patient as Bryan said the software writer will be looking at the issue soon...  Thanks for the comments.
