Hello Frank,

There is a PDF file that summarizes the experience when I opened ambed_server in XLX595

on http://hamradio.dip.jp/ja3gqj/

I am very happy if it will be helpful for you.

Is there a documented procedure for setting up two ThumbDV's to transcode on the XLX reflectors?

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Give me the host names of the two repeaters. I will add them for you.

Using WinDV I am able to access a list of actual Dstar repeaters, not just Reflectors.  I just installed BlueDV, very nice.  Can BlueDV also access a list repeaters ?  I don't see anything obvious...

Hello Frank. This guide
by IZ7AUH which he shared with me via Yahoo! Group
xlxd-star digest some time ago pointed to the items needed
to be renamed within the FT_Prog in order for the ThumbDV to
be recognized by the ambed program. The guide is in italian
but you will be able to go about it as I could as well. The
information regarding modifying the ThumbDV is on the second
page.

Re: Installing Windows version on Linux with MSIexec and Wine

David/John,

Thanks David. John, yes I know about the Virtual box.  I've introduced myself to Linux going that route from WIndows.  I am trying to rid myself of Windows, but if that's the only way I can reinstall DMR software,  I might give it a go.   Just for your information I was able to install another Windows program (MobaXterm) that uses the Microsoft installer (.msi) without a problem.  It installed perfectly except for the username/password entres shows up on the right side of Web page and then the typed letters are entered from right to left  (ie drowssap).  Weird.  Really weird.  Every other SSH function seems to work perfectly.  The file manager, full screen editor, file transfer from from Windows to Linux and now Linux to Linux.  Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Re: Installing Windows version on Linux with MSIexec and Wine

If you have a Windows license, you can setup a virtual machine on the Linux box.  https://www.oracle.com/virtualization/virtualbox/index.html

That is correct. The AMBE3000 is not supported on BlueDV Linux.

If one was using DummyRepeater/ircDDBGateway on a Raspberry Pi, then those applications could use the AMBEserver on the same (or a different) Raspberry Pi.

AMBEserver works with either the ThumbDV or PiDV hardware.

The Microphone/Speaker would be integrated in the above applications.

Re: Ambe server on raspberry pi 3 B+

This has two answers --

1. Install current Raspbian and follow these steps -- https://nw-digital-radio.groups.io/g/ambe/wiki/AMBEserver-Addendum#Quick-Build-on-Linux (Quick Build on Linux)

2. Install latest (not stable/supported) Compass Wilderness -- http://archive.compasslinux.org/images/wilderness/ and apt-get install the ambeserver package.
