Hello John,

any documentation/website you can refer to me?

Tnx .... Tom VE3NY

Re: ThumbDV & Raspberry Pi

It is possible but you also need PTT.

DummyRepeater will take a GPS pin for PTT.

It would make for a very compact "travel pack".

Re: ThumbDV & Raspberry Pi

Hello John,

I don’t have to use Pi-Star. I am interested in using RPi with ThumbDV. Can you point me to documentation that describes how to configure dummy repeater, ThumbDV + AMBEserver (if that’s what I should be looking for)? I’ve been grazing on web but haven’t discovered this information yet.

Tnx .... tfc

ThumbDV + AMBEserver on Linux, IPv6 Problem

oliver@...

I have set up an AMBEserver with ThumbDV on Linux according to the instructions provided. Under IPv4 it is working like charm. Unfortunately, my ISP now assigns only IPv6 addresses (reachable from outside my private network). Would it be possible to modify the AMBEserver software to support IPv6?  Over the the time (less and less IPv4-Adresses) this otherwise might become a major problem.

Re: ThumbDV, BlueDV, and Windows 10? Help!

I think the message is correct.
The parameter is wrong.
I believe you need to type
COM12
not just 12

Re: ThumbDV, BlueDV, and Windows 10? Help!

Jack Mandelman

Please forgive my ignorance.  I typed 12 instead of COM12.  When I typed COM12 for the port it worked OK!

Re: ThumbDV, BlueDV, and Windows 10? Help!

The com port value should be COM12, not 12 -- just like the example COM1 in the prompt.

Unplug and replug the ThumbDV before testing again.  Make sure the Device Manager lists the ThumbDV at the COM port you select.

One thing on the video, the device he used is at 230400 baud, current (last few years) ThumbDVs are at 460800 baud.

BlueDV, both the latest beta and pre-beta versions do the same behavior.  When i deselect "Serial", and enter the Setup menu, the COM14 port is available.  I select that, and Save.  If I turn on Serial again (the only thing that responds),  the Update menu pick grays out, and nothing is selectable.  No frequency shows up, no firmware, nothing.  Unresponsive.

Does someone have a simple walk-through to get BlueDV working with Windows 10?
