As a software developer I got EXACTLY what I wanted from the DV3000 and the ThumbDV.
I may have just given myself a reason to need several DV3000 or ThumbDVs. If I understand this right, a rPI, DV3000 and a 25$ SDR dongle is all it takes to make an all (>HF) band DStar Receiver.
Could take it to the next extreme and create an all band DStar transmitter using the rPI bit banging output.
