Re: Using DNS Name for DV3000

"John D. Hays" <john@...>

I'm not sure what application you are specifically looking for, and if someone has a DNS address, finding the IP address is trivial.

On Windows, Linux, and MacOS, one would simply use the nslookup tool.  For example (on my Mac):

nslookup arrl.org
Server: 192.168.6.15
Address: 192.168.6.15#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: arrl.org
Address: 184.106.62.251

The ThumbDV and PiDV are not directly addressed by an IP address, applications access them. Such applications as WinDV, Buster, DummyRepeater, and AMBEserver.

BTW, discussions for these products have moved.

It's a program for Windows to use the ThumbDV. The primary site is offline.

Re: Sound Card Settings RX inactive

Dieter,

This typically means you have another program running that has the UDRC mapped under ALSA.  Make sure dstarrepeater/dstarrepaterd are stopped before running dstarrepeaterconfig.

Also there is a sub-group specifically for the udrc which you may want to use in the future.

Has anyone tried using the UDR Digital controller to pass VOIP data to an IRLP node?   I’ve got a PiIRLP that I’d really like to interconnect to my DX-1 and am wondering if I could connect the “radio” ports from a controller to the PiIRLP, and then route the packets to/from a controller connected to the DX-1?

There is not a complete application to accomplish all of these systems on NW Digital Radio products at this time.

The UDRC and ThumbDV/PiDV could certainly be a part of such an application.

Peter,

I am using the UDRC with a PI3 and the standard micro-USB supply

connections required.

HI Steve,

Thanks for the quick reply, the micro-USB supply to the PI3 is 3A

The instructions are not that precise on whether the UDRC requires a
separate supply, did I miss something fundamental here?

Can I surmise that there are a few supply options

1. UDRC draws power from the PI3 40way GPIO?

2. PI3 is powered from the UDRC when 12VDC is connected to the
+12V pad adjacent to the Dsub15 connector?

3. Both are required?
