Who else, if anyone, plans to use 44 address scheme in the Pacific North West around the Puget Sound? I have a allocation request in but it seems to take awhile...still waiting. Has any testing been done using JNOS with the 56K speed configuration option? Gateway security - is this a concern for discussion. Assign static IPs to users, DHCP server, map IPs to MACs considering a TCP/IP environment? Paul VE7DHM

Depends on which P-25. P-25 Phase 1 uses IMBE, the DV3000 does not have IMBE. P-25 Phase 2 HR uses AMBE and the DV3000 can be set for it. A couple of people have modified DSD to use DV3000. DSD handles the modem/protocol and the DV3000 handles the AMBE decoding.

Has anyone whiten any software that will allow the DV-3000 to receive P-25 as of yet. Most of the public safety stuff around here has went or is going to it. I just can't see spending that much money for a new scanner just to listen every once in a while. Jim

Greetings, The FT230X uses the default FTDI VID/PID, so it should be recognized with Windows Update. If you don't have an Internet connection, or see the device under the "Other" devices tree in Device Manager, then run their EXE installer: Unplug the ThumbDV, run the EXE, then plug the ThumbDV back in. If you still have troubles after running the EXE, try right-clicking on the ThumbDV in the Device Manager, then select "Update Drivers" Bob Recny, N8SQT

I doubt that processing power has ever been the issue, we're talking about audio. However, even if the patent expires, reverse engineering the vocoder may not be trivial.
When it becomes legal, no one will be holding you back. Your task, should you accept it, is to ENCODE/DECODE! :-) - Richard, VE7CVS

I have Fusion decode working with the dsd program (rx only). I have the DVSI USB3000 and modified dsd to use it to decode D*, DMR, NXDN, and P25. I am in the process of getting dsd to work on a Raspberry PI 2. I plan to use the DV3000. I want to buy a thumbDV, but the paypal login button does not work on the order checkout page. Does NWDigitalRadio only accept credit cards and no direct paypal? 73 Eric WB1HBU

A couple of other hints. Use the Quick Tune buttons (you may have to activate their display from the menu) for your favorite linking destinations, much easier to hit. When in a pull-down menu (like the Repeater/Reflector list), the "left/right" arrow keys help navigate the list. First make sure all other programs are closed including any apps. Check under device manager and serial ports to confirm which port you are using. If in doubt pull out the thumbDV while watching the com ports in device manage and you will see the thumb dv com port dissappear to confirm the right number. Use the magnifier program in windows to see the tiny text when choosing reflectors. Close the magnifier down when done with it because it seems to interfere with the thumbDV sound. I have been informed that pressing the space turns on the transmit button so you don't have to try to hit the tiny transmit button. I have had several crashes and a few lock ups. It's beta software. Otherwise it works pretty well. good luck

My DV3000U is working great with my Samsung Notebook Windows 8 machine. I am having difficulty with my WinBook TW700, Windows 8.1 Tablet. I do have the Beta 1.5.8 software but have gotten errors trying it. Could you share with the group your settings? Not sure of comport, selections are 1 or 3. Tried both, no success. Other settings are difficult to see on the WinBook. Any way to increas the size of the text on display? Thanks, Steve-WB9ZNL
