Try using TightVNC. Works well on the configuration you have.

VNC on Compass
I cannot get realvnc to run on Compass. I've tried manually installing it but without success. Any suggestions? I'm running Compass on a RPI3 with full updates and upgrades

This is an experimental area, you are unlikely to find an image ready to go. You would load Compass Linux or Raspbian Jesse, then add application code, which may require compiling from source.

Any help from yourselves who have do this already and suggestions of a good Raspberry Pi 2 or 3 image would be appreciated, initially the DMR to Analogue bridge sounds good for starters ?
John.

There are a few applications. Use your PiDV in an AMBEserver.

Re: ThumbDV and SDR# / Virtual Audio Cable
I think the question is, do you want to potentially violate the intellectual property rights (patents) behind the vocoders (e.g. mbelib probably violates those IP rights) vs using a licensed vocoder
