is there a place to attach an internal patch antenna? An externalantenna seems like a hassle and clutter for portable field use.

If you look at page 17 of the FT-847 Manual in the lower left corner, you will see the drive levels to use for transmit (pin 1). Use those values (HF digital on Yaesu usually uses the 1200 baud

Jim,
Thanks for the update.
You shouldn't have to play with transmit levels.
Look in your FT-847 manual for recommended TX audio levels for digital
mode, then use John's web app for the appropriate

OK, I've ordered a new Pi 3B+ so I can start using this.
Steve, I'll do this the DRAWS way and connect via the accy plug to reap the benefits - I'm intrigued to see how it will do better than the icom

Could you be more specific? It isn't clear what "batches" you are talking about.

I know that the first 2 batches of 10k units didnt responded to low voltage. Is the board regulating 5v properly. check to see what thr voltage is on battery vs psu.
Just my thoughts.

I ran some tests, with a weak battery and no battery. In each case, if the power is removed from the DRAWS™ HAT, then the GPS has to cold start and can take up to a few minutes to begin reporting

Chuck -- how long do you leave cgps or gpsmon running (in case of loss of satellite data and the GPS is cold starting)?

Hi Chuck,
If can boot up on the 12.2V supply. Open a terminal, and run bin/showudrc.sh and capture the output and forward it, this will provide some diagnostics for the team to look at.
