Gwen,
Did you ever get a functional description document, youtube, powerpoint, smoke signals on Draws from anyone? Oct QST or the schematic posted to groups.io doesn’t do it for me.. Maybe there is a West Coast secret club keeping the East Coast folks in the dark.. Sorry in advance for being so thick…. Dan ww3n

Re: DRAWS
Frankly, that is one person's experience/opinion. As I stated earlier, my experience with WSJT-X on the Raspberry Pi, with the CODEC used in the DRAWS, is that FT-8 runs fine. This also seems to be the experience of those in this thread. https://groups.io/g/ft8call/topic/26219896#533 Two points --

If you are receiving this email, then you already have a login on the groups.io website. You had to sign up to join this forum. So, what's the issue? It's the same place the various other files related to NWDR are posted.

Re: DRAWS
I haven't read the QST article yet -- however, I have successfully run WSJT-X using the CODEC on the DRAWS board on Raspberry Pi 3

Re: [DVSwitch] Early Adopters Pre-Sale for the Digital Radio Amateur Workstation - DRAWS
Will, It uses some of the GPIO busses and pins. These are not compatible across SBCs. A lot of the capability is due to the use of this functionality and would be limited by making it a USB device. Raspberry Pi has sufficient computing for the applications we are designing for and there are millions of them deployed. They are inexpensive and have active development and community. Our development and support costs go up with more platforms. We are going to offer the DRAWS as a complete and integrated unit to drop into a station, at which point the SBC is just a part of the solution. We prefer to focus our efforts on this

John,
Nice product, why not make the little unit compatible with other SBCs other than Rasberry Pi? Maybe an added usb port to interface would make the unit interface with many SBCs and making sales go up even more?

It was reported to me that someone on the International D-STAR net said that the ThumbDV was going out of production. THIS IS NOT TRUE. -- The ThumbDV is on sale for $99.95 on existing stock. NW Digital Radio is continuing the ThumbDV. See http://nwdigitalradio.com/thumbdv-clearance-sale/ for details. If you miss the sale, there is no functional difference, but the new batch will be back at full price. It is best to go the source for information.

Jeff,
Assuming that the DRAWS will operate similarly to the existing RPi/UDRC-II kit:
I know that there are many RPi/UDRC users who are using it for APRS running XASTIR. Personally, my primary interests are twofold: 1- Running Fldigi in FSQ-6 mode and/or MT63 mode for local simplex digital comms. 2- Running DireWolf to make the DRAWS into a network-attached TNC so that I can run RMS Express on my network-attached Windows PC. 73 Chris KC9AD

Specs on DRAWS accessory port?
Steve Stroh
Could you provide more details on the accessory port of DRAWS such as whether the serial port is TTL levels or RS-232 levels (I’ll guess the former)? And what are the specs of the analog input port? Thanks! ,_._,_

Re: Compass & DRAWS
See the updated https://nw-digital-radio.groups.io/g/compass/wiki/Compass-Linux-Packages-on-Other-Debian-Based-Systems The image for DRAWS will be based on this version of Compass and will be the best place to start, after the DRAWS image is released. From that point forward you will be able to update Raaspbian packages directly,

Is this procedure still the current way to add UDRC packages to Raspbian?
https://nw-digital-radio.groups.io/g/compass/wiki/Compass-Linux-Packages-on-Other-Debian-Based-Systems Would this be compatible with releases of Raspbian newer than Jessie (i.e. Stretch), or is this a YMMV situation? Thanks Mike
