Re: DRAWS
I just read the Product Brief. What rigs use those 6-pin mini-DIN connectors? I'm thinking Yaesu FT-817 and newer? How about connecting it to an Elecraft KX3/PX3 system? Is it compatible? Here's the start of a list of radios. Even after all these years - the radio is still the big problem for ham data... https://groups.io/g/nwaprs/wiki/Radios-for-Packet Having seen early slides at the NWAPRS SG presentation I will assume 9600 packet data is a design requirment. 73 Bill, WA7NWP

Re: DRAWS
Hi Gwen, This is a common interface across the big 3 amateur radio manufacturers that support a 'packet radio' accessory jack. It should be plug compatible with many radios including the FT-8x7 and FT-818. For radios without this connector, this is a classic '4-wire' interface; PTT, DISC or AFOUT, AFIN, and SQL (plus GND). One would simply cut the 6 Pin Mini DIN cable in half and attach to the radio/connector of choice. We will be building a database of radios along with level settings for setup.

Re: Compass & DRAWS
Once the image is installed, it uses standard Raspbian repositories for packages other than those we specifically build and test. Compass will be an easier 'get started' install, after that they are the same. Anna could provide more detail, but the current kernel allows us to add DRAWS/UDRC support after installation, previous versions of the kernel required us building a new kernel to support the sound chip.

So which one will make doing OS and application update simpler and more reliable? Having to maintain a current Compass has got to be something of a strain. Wouldn't focusing on packaging and delivering software for your hardware along the lines Annalise has been pursuing or some time now be better over all. Gayland KG7GCF

How about posting the presentation from Summer Gathering or TAPR? I attended SG but was unable to see the DRAWS session due to other business. The product description on the website doesn't say much.

Re: Compass & DRAWS
There is a package for Raspbian, or use Compass Linux. Compass Linux is Raspbian pre-loaded with the contents of the package. The image with the applications pre-loaded will be Compass based.
