XC-3006 First Look
Just received a XC-3006 USB Dongle. I plan on using it for a
Multi Protocol Gateway Reflector Server. More Photos in my gallery.

Re: Looking for information to build Analog/Digital Hotspot
Lloyd Mitchell
I suggest you look into the STM32 type boards for the repeater. One is the http://www.repeater-builder.com/products/stm32-dvm.html board for the repeater interface I highly suggest the DV-MEGA with a rasp pi as the mobile unit both of the boards can perform very well with the Pi-Star Firmware http://www.pistar.uk/index.php There are many other boards and setup, but this one I have found to work with minimal other interfaces or mobile routers KO4L Lloyd

I saw where NW Digital had a urdc board for Dstar, is this something that could be used or is another board or an arduino required. I would like to add one to my DR1x repeater and have another as a mobile hotspot? Thanks for all replies Rick N9UMJ

SOLVED: ircDDB dashboard not displaying links
Somehow I managed to start up TWO copies of the ircddbgatewayd daemon. One running under opendv and another running under user "pi"
One of these was connecting and the other was not. They were both providing data to the dashboard.....

Re: ircDDB dashboard not displaying links
Just to clarify - when the status of linking changes, the web page produced by the dashboard is correct. This lasts for 5-20 seconds and then the list of linked stations disappears. The headers are still there but no data table. If I unlink or link one of the repeaters, the table comes back but only lasts 5-20 seconds then disappears.

Re: ircDDB dashboard not displaying links
Actually It’s ircDDBGateway *Dashboard* And it’s from the NW Digital web pages.

ircDDB dashboard not displaying links
Recently my dashboard has stopped displaying links except briefly when they change status. Not sure if this is related to a Windows update ? because this used to work. It's this dashboard https://nw-digital-radio.groups.io/g/udrc/wiki/Configuring-ircDDBgateway#Dashboard = = = Probably unrelated ... but when I went to restart the dashboard I found this warning message: May 11 18:59:47 DSTAR-GW irc-node-dashboard[558]: (node:558) MaxListenersExceededWarning: Possible EventEmitter memory leak detected. 11 line listeners added. Re: WinDV Issue gateway list differs
Jim Moen <jim@...>
Yes, The hosts files installed with WinDV are quite out of date. Check https://www.k6jm.com/hs-setupwindv.htm in Reflector List section toward the bottom of the page for a way to install up to date hosts files.

The above recommends host files with just reflectors, but the same website ar-dns.net also has files that include gateways. Many have switched to BlueDV, but WinDV still works when configured right. I still recommend taking a look at BlueDV.... Jim - K6JM

Andy: I wonder if the hosts files on each PC are identical? Or, perhaps the second PC hosts files do not have the contents you need since they probably came from the installation zip file.

I have WinDV on one PC and when using the "quick tunes" configuration, I get a LONG list of reflectors and gateway repeaters including my nearby RF Dstar repeater. This is useful for connecting to my local Dstar repeater via my ThumbDV.
For various reasons I want to use a a different PC. I installed WinDV on it (same version as on other PC) but when I go to configure quick tunes I am not presented with the same lengthy list of repeaters to add to quick tunes. I have tried all sorts of
things but can't get the desired repeater even though i can with same software on different PC. I have the call sign server st for Free*star

Don't forget the filtering you will need to design and build. I doubt any of those devices can be amplified without some extra filtering inline to keep them legal.

The product won't see the light of day now. That's a bummer 'cuz back when it was announced I was quite interested in buying one. Instead check out the HackRF, the LimeSDR, or the LimeSDR Mini: More capability than the UDRX would have had. Add an amp or three and you've got any mode you want on any of 100 kHz to 3.8 GHz (LimeSDR as an example). Has 6 Rx and 4 Tx connectors, so you can have an amp and/or antenna per band as well. I think the Lime's do 10mW out, so an amp is pretty much required. This is not that dissimilar from my ANAN10 HF rig that has a separate amp to get it to 10 to 15W. LimeSDR Mini: $140 LimeSDR: $300 HackRF: $300 Plenty to choose from these days. -- Curt, WE7U. http://we7u.wetnet.net Closed-minded about open (-source)... 1200 baud packet radio 30 years old in the PNW. I was looking forward to the UDRX as the nextIf only somebody (knudge knudge NWDR) would come out with an updated (25 year old?) D4-10 that was not dependent on crystals for frequency control. It would make a great pair with an dual port network TNC (like the 25 year old Dataengine...) There have been some comments that the 222 Mobile radio by the Bridgecom BCM-220 will do 9600 and maybe better - but they ignore me when I ask. Bill

The UDRC supports creating hotspots and repeaters. Jonathan recently ported the software for MMDVM to work with the UDRC, though it is still Alpha code, but for D-STAR see the numerous entries at: https://nw-digital-radio.groups.io/g/udrc/wiki/home

You have been able to build more than 20 milliwatt hotspots and repeaters for quite a while.
