No UDRC listed after aplay -l

Hi there,

 

Forgive this NOOB question, I have just received the UDRC pi-hat and a brand new Raspberry PI3.

 

My intent is to setup a dual VHF/UHF 1200/9600 APRS igate/digipeater.  I am starting with the 9600 APRS first and quickly ran into a problem.  I cannot see the UDRC card listed.

 

 

Am I the only one with this issue?  And yes the card is plugged in correctly.

What are you hooked up to, e.g. radio, repeater, etc. Start at the Wiki articles. https://nw-digital-radio.groups.io/g/udrc/wiki

We made an attempt to get the UDRC board working on field day.  We were not able to get it to decode on the receiver.  I have INCLUDED the log.  If anyone has any suggestion please advise.  Thanks in advance.

UDRC configuration help

We made an attempt to get the UDRC board working on field day.  We were not able to get it to decode on the receiver.  I have INCLUDED the log.  If anyone has any suggestion please advise.  Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of people working on Fusion support.

What has been discovered is that Yaesu has some hybrid encoding in at least one mode that is not directly supported by the AMBE3000 chip.  Yaesu is likely a source licensee and can mix and match components for their particular implementation.

I would venture there will be Fusion enabled software (by a 3rd party, not NW Digital Radio directly) but may have some limitations due to the Yaesu implementation.

It is possible to make the connections (either a PiDV or just use a ThumbDV in one of the USB ports), but the applications to operate all of those protocols do not currently exist.

The AMBE-3000 is the vocoder, it doesn't provide any of the radio protocols, it turns voice into AMBE and AMBE into voice, the rest is handled in applications.

Also there is some intellectual property attached to some of the commercial protocols that should be licensed.

I would like to make something like the DV Mega dualband radio board on a R-PI using NW digital products.  What is the hardware and software requirements?  I am interested in DSTAR, C4FM and DMR reflectors via cell phone WIFI.  Can it be done today?

Since there seems to be a limited amount of documentation around the hardware supported here, could you please clarify if Compass supports wifi?  

In reading your response, and lack of mention about wifi, I can only assume that it doesn't exist at the kernel level anymore and the only networking option for anyone running Compass is wired.

If this is not the case, is there support for issues with Compass?

There is a prebuilt package as part of Compass Linux  (images at http://archive.compasslinux.org/)

If you are running Compass Linux you can install with
