John Aboud

Hi, all. Is there a list of compatible radios that work with the DRAWS? Must the radio have a 6 pin mini din port in order for it to be compatible?

I currently have a BTech UV-50x3 and some HTs with the Kenwood/Baofeng two-prong connector. Will a mini din to eight-pin cable work for the BTech? And then a mini din to two-prong cable for the HTs?

Many thanks,
John Aboud KK6ZVQ

Those announcements show up on the blog, which I copy to this list for discussion.

The best way to get the earliest notification is to be subscribed to the blog, so you get emails of new postings.

If you're formatting the sd card your pi is running on.. that's not going to work too swell.  You'd have to use a separate USB micro-sd card reader and format a second microsd card with the appropriate image while your pi runs off of the raspbian sd card.  This should be doable without having access to a 'real computer' :).

What could be the issue?

It's my only working computer at this time, aside from my phone.  Using raspian desktop that is usually installed on the pi.

Here is what i keep getting

pi@Lakelandpi:~$ lsblk

sdb           8:16   1 29.6G  1 disk
mmcblk0     179:0    0 14.9G  0 disk
├─mmcblk0p1 179:1    0 43.8M  0 part /boot
└─mmcblk0p2 179:2    0 14.8G  0 part /
pi@Lakelandpi:~$ dd if=draws_beta9.img of=/dev/sdb bs=4M
dd: failed to open '/dev/sdb': Permission denied
pi@Lakelandpi:~$ dcfldd if=draws_beta9.img of=/dev/sdb bs=4M
bash: dcfldd: command not found
pi@Lakelandpi:~$ dd if=draws_beta9.img of=/dev/sdb bs=4M
dd: failed to open '/dev/sdb': Permission denied

I've been trying to right to sdb, it matches the sd card i have in the card reader.

when i use dd, it gives me permission denied.

DRAWS™ Shipping Schedule - Individual Requests

Dear All,

This group is the place to talk about the DRAWS™ HAT and Workstation.

We understand and appreciate that many DRAWS™ orders have been waiting as far back as last fall.

As was previously announced, we now have boards in house, with more coming.  We apologize for the delay, most of which could not be avoided.

Once the boards are in house, there is some finalizing work that needs to be performed before they are shipped to customers. (EEPROM programming, test, etc.)  This work is being performed now and shipments will start going out, with initial shipments going as early as Monday.

General orders are processed in the order received, so if you ordered early, you will be at the beginning of the queue.  If you ordered recently, you will be later in the queue.

Researching individual orders takes time away from programming, testing, packaging, and shipping.  Asking when an individual order will ship, does not speed up the delivery of that order -- in fact, it slows down all orders.

As we process individual orders, an email is sent with a tracking number.  At which point, updates on delivery are available online and we do not have any more information than what is available on the tracking system. (E.g. if you ask us, we can only go look up the information that is already online -- again taking time from processing orders.)  Watch for the email which is sent to the email address used for the order.

We will give general updates via the site blog and this list.  We ask and appreciate your patience.  We are working diligently to get orders shipped and to avoid future backlogs.

If you must communicate with us, on an individual basis, please use the form at bottom of the page at http://nwdigitalradio.com/support/

A lot of exciting things are happening with DRAWS™, thank you for being a part of it.

Re: [New post] DRAWS™ Shipping Schedule

Steve Stroh

Could we take these delivery discussions that are of interest to precisely ONE individual, off this list?

There IS a support email that goes directly to NWDR personnel and does not spam this list.

With these individual queries, this list’s utility is quickly reducing to near null.
