I'm not sure what happened but i was checking that my RPi was up to date after not having used it for a couple of weeks (i was away) and now i have no audio. It looks like i've got a problem with the udrc audio module not loading but i'm not really sure how to troubleshoot it again. I tried what was suggested to me (and worked) in the past:

Re: error during udrc-dkms
Basil,
Wish I had seen this thread earlier, I got the same error. Hope the info below helps others that may not be so familiar with dpkg. After the failure to upgrade the kernel, the dpkg install and configuration of other upgraded apps may not have completed and the system may be in a usable but possibly unstable state. Issuing the command sudo dpkg -C will perform an audit and will return a list of apps not installed and/or configured. If none are found it returns nothing and the apps have been upgraded. If a list was returned then issuing the command sudo dpkg --configure -a should complete the install and configuration of the other upgraded apps. Issuing the command sudo dpkg -C again will confirm this is the case. Larry - W7PAN

Re: Raspberry Pi 4
The Raspberry Pi 4 announcement claims that the GPIO is pin compatible with the 2 and 3. If this holds true, then the physical connection to the DRAWS™ HAT should be fully compatible. We have yet to know if Annaliese's kernel driver for DRAWS™ HAT sound subsystem will be part of the initial Raspbian "Buster" release, which is required for the Raspberry Pi 4. The current beta image is based on "Stretch" which does not support the Raspberry Pi 4 (per the Raspberry Pi Foundation), a self built image will be required until such time as NW Digital Radio provides an image based on Buster. Raspbian Buster does not officially release until July 7th. Status updates will be posted as available. John D. Hays Kingston, WA K7VE

Any updates on the shipping of backordered boards? We're about a week into the period during which backorders were to be shipped - is there any way we can get an idea how deep the queue still is? Thanks!

I believe the measure_deviate.sh script does what you want. Instead of playing the tone WAV file, point the aplay line at the appropriate audio file. The script takes care of turning on/off PTT for left/right mDin6 connector used. https://github.com/nwdigitalradio/n7nix/tree/master/deviation If you just want a simple script to control PTT then please check ptt_ctrl.sh https://github.com/nwdigitalradio/n7nix/blob/master/bin/ptt_ctrl.sh /Basil Markus <subscribe@meldekopf.de> writes:

Re: Question HW and SW
I have not implemented or tested this, but it should work. Raspbian is Linux on the Raspberry Pi, so you only need the Pi plus DRAWS™ HAT and radios. The wiring to the radio is straightforward using the amateur radio standard mini DIN-6 pinout for packet radio. minimodem installs with a simple apt-get. Look at some of the TTS (text to speech) packages.

Dave N2OA
You can't expect them to create another early adopter case for the Pi 4. My understanding is that a discount was offered to early adopters and you took the risk knowing that there could be issues. If not being able to use the aluminum case and the Pi 4 with the early adopter board is the biggest issue, I'm fine with that, after all it didn't exist when these things were designed. If it turns out there is a defect in the board that causes it to stop working tomorrow, that would be a bummer but I also knew there was that risk and I'd be glad that I helped iron out any issues. I own two DRAWS boards and have two cases on order. I bought them knowing that anything could happen but I wanted to experiment with something new that I believe has potential. That is the Amateur spirit, isn't it? Dave N2OA

> We will have an update on cases this week, Including changes to accommodate the new Pi4. If we have a case on backorder (ordered mine a couple months ago) will we be receiving the Pi4-compatible cases or the old Pi3 case? FWIW, at this point I'd rather have the DRAWS board in hand and I can wait on the case if I have to. I won't have my Pi4 until July anyway. - Chris
