Re: DRAWS and Allstar?
DRAWS™ CODEC is available under ALSA (and pulseaudio), anyone who wants to try this should look at chan_alsa and app_rpt Can app_rpt do PTT and SQUELCH DETECT using Raspberry Pi GPIO pins?

Hi Ed! PAT works extremely well on the Pi/DRAWS using telnet, ax25, & ARDOP. The following video walks through the setup and there are many others from the same author going in to more detail on particular aspects of the same: -Scott, K4KDR =====================

Re: minimum install to get the DRAWS gps working?
If the antenna has a good view of the sky, the first startup can take a while. You can also restart the gpsd sudo systemctl stop gpsd sudo systemctl start gpsd You can also stop gpsd and. cat /Dev/ttySC0

Please don't take this wrong but have you hooked up an antenna to the draw hat gps connector?

minimum install to get the DRAWS gps working?
I just received my DRAWS and at this point in time, I am only interested in getting the GPS working. (I'm developing a new ThumbDV app for D-Star Routing and linking and want to use the GPS to update the user and station positions to aprs.) I would rather not use Compass until I full understand what my program needs to use the DRAWS gps.
I found the wiki page on "Setup GPSD for Time and Position" and am wondering about the statement "Ensure that the device tree and driver have been installed". How do I do that with resorting to Compass? I installed gpsd etc, and I see /dev/ttySC0 and /tty/pps on my system and systemctl reports that gpsd is running, but gpsmon is showing all zeros. Thanks!

The current (Buster) Raspbian has the driver built in. You don't need the DKMS for it.

I've been looking around the site and I see mention of a udrc-dkms (I'm assuming thats the audio driver file for the udrc)
my question is there a repository somewhere that I could add to, say, raspbian and install the udrc driver with apt-get and run the scripts to install the board? I've looked through the scripts and I thought there was a fix for when a distro-update broke the driver but I can't find it. 73 Art

I was not upset about your responses I did every thing you said it was the lack of response from the office, and I think maybe
they should offer to test some of the unit people cant get the unit to work, but that is up to them. I am sending it back maybe they will test it not that they will ever let me know. on to other projects 73 k6jus

I think, if you go back and review, you will see that you have had quite a few responses over the last several days, trying to help you diagnose the problem. Bryan processed the promised refund today. 73
