Re: FT-897 Setup

I have a -62 Cat to USB Serial on hand. So, for the FT-897/857 we need two cables, one for CAT and one for Audio via the DRAWS. So, to which port does DRAWS cable connect?

FT-897 Setup

Has anyone connected their DRAWS to an FT-897 yet? I am looking for some assistance.
Specifically, cabling needs for the setup. It looks like from all I have read, I still need a USB to Serial to run any Rig Control outside of PTT. Is this correct?

Yes. This is the simplest way to do these because if you need to
relay it by voice, it's "paint by the numbers". Super simple.
Date and Time stamps make the message unique along with the
addressees.

When I start flmsg in a terminal, this is the output after attempting to open the template (which still look good in the browser at this point). I think that this may be the source of the problem.

First off, I backed up and followed the steps you listed in successfully sending a form. I have now gotten as far as creating a 'K2s' file (never seen that before) which theoretically contains my complete form in some form. I have no idea where to go from here.
I am using the DRAWS imagine with your configuration. Linux draws 4.19.75-v7l+ FLMSG 4.0.14 Chromium (also pat and piardopc for HF access) ...running on a Raspberry Pi 4 with the DRAWS hat attached.

OK. After a restart of the Raspberry Pi, the ICS form now appears on the CUSTOM list in flmsg. However, once the form is completed and I click 'Submit' at the bottom of the webpage, I am returned to flmsg where instead of my entered text appearing, something such as ' ' appears.

After downloading the html files, moving them to the CUSTOM folder, running flmsg, and selecting 'CUSTOM'; nothing shows up except 'Transfer FORM.' I promise that I am not being purposefully obtuse. What steps and I missing?

These instruction simply do not work. I put the form download form into the 'CUSTOM' folder, and nothing shows up.
