Hamlib error: IO error while opening connection to rig
I was not able to set frequency on the KX3
I need to change my doc as you need start the rigctl daemon first. Also
you need to see what the baud rate (-s) is set to for on your KX3 rig
control.

-s Assuming the baud rate is 19200 bps.
-m rig number for KX3

rigctld-wsjtx -m 2045 -r /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 19200 -P GPIO -p 12

All of the above doesn't really matter if you have rig control working
using native wsjt-x. I think I used HAMlib so that the rig control config for
js8call & wsjt-x were similar.

vc4-drm gpu: HDMI-A-1: EDID is invalid:
This error relates to the kind of video monitor you are using. Some
monitors do not report a valid EDID so you have to set HDMI parameters in the
/boot/config.txt file.

When I set the rig as KX3 instead of: Hamlib NET rigctl and Audio to
alsa,input ... and alsa.output ... then I could set the frequency from
the Pi and PPT was also running. But of course can't check the audio.

I did *setalsa* and the result looks fine, but have to wait for the audio cables.

All your console output looks good!

I recently setup wsjt-x and js8call using a DRAWS card and have the
following notes using HAMLib/rigctl. In the wsjt-x/js8call config I set
my rig to 'Hamlib NET rigctl'

Also you will want to config your ALSA settings that control deviation.
There should be a script that will program those settings for a KX2 in your
local bin. This would be a good place to start for your KX3.

/home/pi/bin/setalsa-kx2.sh

# It should be in your PATH so just run:

setalsa-kx2.sh

# then verify settings with:

alsa-show.sh

no idea what the errors in the boot fail check are.
What you are seeing is just a grep for the word 'fail' in dmesg
output. (Run dmesg from a console prompt to see what I am talking about)
I have seen errors for the Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet controller before
and I think the enet clocks show up at a later time in the boot process
so those errors are benign.

Let me know how you make out once your cables arrive.

thanks for the hint. So it is a language problem :-) I changed the language on the raspberry pi from German to English to avoid future problems with tolls and language. Here is the output and below the bug info - no idea what the errors in the boot fail check are. I went through the installation but without to config the packet part now. I can not check the audio with my KX3 cause I'm waiting for the cables.

The error in wsjtx is a known one, now I can start it:
WSJT-X release 2.3.0 will give an error on startup with a message about the en_US.UTF-8 locale not being found. This is because a default install of Raspberry Pi OS has very few locales installed. This is easily rectified by the following two lines executed on a terminal:

sudo sed -i "s/# en_US.UTF-8/en_US.UTF-8/g" /etc/locale.gen

sudo locale-gen

The console output you posted looks OK. Except for this:
alsa-show.sh

Undefined sound card
which could be a locale problem as I parse out the sound card names from
aplay -l. The parser is biased towards English (sorry) and is most
likely choking on:

Gerät or Karte

After doing a quick check this is the offending line in alsa-show.sh
You can see that it looks for 'card' instead of 'Karte' on line 341 of
the alsa-show.sh script. Try editing the script changing "^card " with
"^Karte ".

Thanks for the aplay -l output I will use it to see what alsa-show.sh
parses out of it.

The antenna has a huge view to just about 90deg straight up and almost 180deg from side to side. My cell phone held in exact same spot has no prob fixing on 10 sats though the normal 10.6ft margin of error is increased to almost 40ft. That is nice yours works well for you but up to this point I am not experiencing similar.
I found a way to extend the GPS ant feed line and placed the antenna on the roof and it is working fine now seeing 17 and fixing 12. Glad I am experimenting with it now and not in the field.

Ok that was helpful- just took a look and there are some signals
there- but I am adding a photo of where my GPS antennas are located.
Try pointing the antenna up not out towards the horizon. Will they reach
that shade you have on the back window? Keep the gps antenna away from
the feed line for the other antenna up there.

and if this is the sort of performance I can expect on a SOTA site or
camping this platform may not work for me.
I use a RPi/draws in a my truck for APRS and the gps device on the DRAWS
board (SkyTraq S1216F8-GL GNSS Module) is a lot better than any USB
devices I've used in the past.

You will note that you have 0 SNR on all of the satellites (the 'seen' is their computed position)  here is what a 'healthy' screen would look like (note the SNR)

The NWDR images from Basil are well tested using applications with DRAWS™.

Plug and play is close, but there is configuration which has dependencies on knowing the specifics of the radios which are being interfaced.

I've been working with this thing for a while, and there's always something.  This driver got updated, that one didn't, you didn't hold your mouth right while updating the flux capacitor's bin and it broke the turboencabulator's connection to the bacon ring array, and on and on. 

Neat idea, but only if your hobby is tinkering with things for days until they work.  There needs to be an image that WORKS out of the box.

- neither antenna seems to work.
Two things when running your scripts- 
1- script was sort of halted at "lines 1-3/3 (END)" I had to Ctrl-C to get the terminal to accept the next command (cd)
2- I forgot. :)

Script output- edited to remove blank lines and wasted space. THANKS
