I can verify that the non-refurbed DR1-Xs both 1.0x and 1.10x firmware work with proper d-star audio levels with UDRC-II with firmware in the past 18 months.

It is a refurb, but I don't recall the firmware version off the top of my head. We also tried it with the non-refurb DR1X that we have, and had the same TX audio issue. The levels would just never

The DRAWS comes with a couple of 6-pin mini-DIN cables. Excellent.
I'll supply a Pi3b+, or would a regular 3b be better?

I haven't seen any problems with mine. I don't have internet at the site, so mine just comes back on with the Dstar repeater software.
It gets gateway via RF from my house. We do have power glitches
