I only operate HF portable, so I connected the dummy load and corrected to:
" If your radio is set for DATA (PSK) operation use ALSA settings IN2_L

Thanks, Indeed ax25 was not shut down I ran ./ax25-stop after ./ax25-disable and that did the trick. In the fldigi set up port audio lite up and I was able to select hw udrc 0.0 for capture and

Check to make absolutely sure that Direwolf is not running after your reboot.
If it is not running, you should see PortAudio as a selectable option. Check the box.
Now Select udrc: - (hw:0,0)

Tried to take a scientific/stepwise approach with setting the DRAWS board audio out today.
I went through the entire level and deviation check routine again today and wound up

quick update: got rid of imagemagick (xastir breaks and can't find it), used graphicmagick instead
Also, I still cannot get the gps to update in xastir. It works fine in YAAC and it shows the fix/time
