I think there may have been a sound setup script that was a little low early on, so that may be the problem. If you give the command
alsamixer
press F6 and pick the UDRC, the screen should look

Do I need to upgrade my other repeater to use my UDRC, it has version 1.00m. I also plan on using Wires-X with an FTM-100 as a remote.

On 1.00m you can use ANALOG WIRES-X (Config 4 on the udrc controller -- FM/FM), but your repeater will lock up if you try to do Digital Fusion (C4FM). I recommend getting the software upgrade, then

It appears that the wireless driver for the Pi3 is not included in the compass build. I am presuming that there are no conflicts between this driver and the udrc??

If you are seeing text and are driving at the levels represented in the window capture I posted, then the next test is peak to peak voltage on pin 6. (1 V) you might also try different combinations

Don’t you mean the hardware upgrade from 1.00M to the 1.10J. Most of the repeaters that are less than a year old would be a freebie except to ship the repeater to yaesu. Hope everyone

No D-STAR audio solved!
Not sure how, (and I should have caught this sooner) but somehow DCS ended up being enabled on my ID-31a.

using dcs or continuous digital coded squelch system will work very nicely for the repeater
in fm mode mike. I have tested this all here with my dr-1x and it works well.

make sure you have 2 channels programmed into your id-31a.
1 channel for use with fm with the proper pl or dpl decode set for the fm mode.
