Re: Using TLA2024

Remember Ain is 0 to +3.3V!

Yes the kernel owns it uses lm-sensors

Type sensors from the command line and you’ll get the values:

pi@draws:~ $ sensors
ads1015-i2c-1-48
Adapter: bcm2835 I2C adapter
User ADC Differential:  +0.00 V
+12V:                  +13.62 V
User ADC 1:             +0.00 V
User ADC 2:             +0.00 V

Quick way to monitor sensors periodically

watch -d sensors

Updates every 2.0 seconds

Or to change the interval:

watch -d -n .1 sensors

Google pi lm-sensors and you should find some app info

Thanks,

Re: #pac-link Pac-Link Install / Setup Instructions #pac-link

Basil Gunn

Ed,

First the program is called paclink-unix.

Second, the excuse. I live on an island and there was a structure fire
early this AM. Many of the HAMs on the island are part of the Fire
Dept. logistics team including me and I was up most of the night filling
air bottles & getting coffee and energy bars for the Fire Fighters. I'm
kind of tired & I have to go off island tomorrow so there may be some
gaps in my responses.

Third, brief instructions.
If you are using the DRAWS image then you know there is a list of things
that are already installed on the image.

https://github.com/nwdigitalradio/n7nix/blob/master/docs/IMAGE_README.md

paclink-unix allows you to run most Linux mail clients to send Winlink
mail messages. Also there is a way to config your RPi to use WiFi to use
your mobile device to compose & receive messages as well. Let's focus on
getting a local email client working as your Winlink interface first.

To configure paclink-unix & a local imap mail server:

If you do not already have a winlink account (password) then go here:
https://www.winlink.org/tags/password
and find the following line and follow those instructions.

"If you’re using a different Winlink e-mail client program, you must follow these steps:"

I know when you run the script you have to enter your call sign twice &
I will fix that in the next few days. You will be prompted to create an
RSA certificate. If you are challenged by some of the prompts just hit
return to use a default value.

cd
cd n7nix
git pull
cd config
sudo su
./app_config.sh pluimap

Verify using debug script which tests postfix & paclink-unix config:

cd
cd n7nix/debug
./chk_mail.sh

Send me the ~/tmp/elog_pi.txt file.

Now Run Claws-mail for the first time by selecting the main menu (top left
hand raspberry) and internet.

Use this guide to config Claws-mail
https://github.com/nwdigitalradio/n7nix/tree/master/email/claws

Now verify by:
Compose a message with Claws-mail addressed to yourself
(kd9frq@...) and check that a file appears in this
directory: /usr/local/var/outbox

Send message by using console command.
wl2ktelnet

Also address a winlink message to me n7nix@... and send it with
wl2ktelnet so I can verify your progress.

There is a web interface you can use so you don't have to use the
console that I will explain later.

Next step is verify receive is working.
Then we will test radio by sending a message through an RMS Gateway.

/Basil

I've ordered one to test.
I like to replace my Win box 10 to the PI. I have 2 VHF nodes using usb prolific to a  Kantronick 9612 tnc to a Motorola radio, usb TNC-C to a Kenwood V 71 both on vhf frequencies. USB SCS-PTC tnc to Icom 746 with RT system 3.5 m plug with adapter to change VFO.
I'm clueless in setting these up as I have been banging my head against the desk trying to getting a signalink to communicate with a v 71.

I can just imagine what I'll be having to do when I really need the gateway to work.

I sent a note to Julian. Hope to hear from him as he has time. His set up with Pi and mobile phone Bluetooth is very compelling.

I wonder if the aluminum DRAWS workstation housing will have provision for external Bluetooth antenna to the Pi?

Thanks to all who post on this list. It’s a steep learning curve for newbies. Following others resolve the Beta troubles has been a great education. I can barely spell Linux and have learned quite a bit following along here.

Are you familiar with OH8STN in Finland?  He has a video series on portable HF digital radio you may find interesting.

I have a Yaesu FT-891 that I am planning on using.  It is an amazing portable rig with the exception of the (easily remedied) missing sound card.  I already use it for digital modes with a linux laptop and external sound device.  Should be really easy to switch it over to DRAWS as a result.

I too am interested in suggestions for suitable QRO HF rugs for portable operation using digital modes.

I’m relatively new to HF and very much learning digital. Current rig is an ICOM 7200, which I like very much. It is too big for portable tho.

Thanks
