Art - KC7SDA
Ok, so I think we needed one place with all of the definitions of each setting and its reasoning behind it.
I don't understand about the xk ohm resistor settings, nor what each setting is in the mixer and what it will change (ie this slider will change the overall output-speaker volume and this one will change the input on the left channel) Also I want to share fldigi settings on this so we can troubleshoot and get them right for both the left and right channels Please note, I'm assuming the din next to the gps is channel 1 (or 0 in direwolfs case) and the other din is channel 2 for fldigi, sound card settings are: port audio: udrc both record and playback on right channel tab, both reverse in transmit and receive are checked (this is for channel 1) for gpio i'm using BCM pin 12 (GPIO 26) with the value box checked now, for dumping the settings, the alsa-show.sh script is in the n7nix/bin directory (wasn't in my user bin), so if you have a set of settings that work, please post them, I'm interested in the variances between setups and what people find work the best, please include your radio and if you have to change settings (just say which ones and what direction, you don't have to post another list of settings) I'll be dumping mine after I upgrade to beta 7 and run my test script 73 Art

AllStarLink channel driver for UDRC/DRAWS
William Franzin (VE4VR)
Good evening Does anyone have a working channel driver for the UDRC/DRAWS board? I've borrowed a UDRC board and also have another controller based on the same codec and want to get them both up and running for AllStarLink. Thought I'd ask before doing it .. With nice hardware like this it's fairly easy. Just need the alsa driver and gpio and we're good. The same thing exists already for BeagleBone using gpio. Best regards William

Re: Beta7 release announcement
William,
Please let us know your experiences using the IC-7000 with the software you are trying to run. I need to compare my outcomes with other 7000 owners. I will be loading Beta 7 this evening to give it a try.

This is great, really glad to see the IC-7000 scripts since that's my test radio.
Install was really quick without the apps running during install too.
Best regards William

I set up the FT-817, broke miniDIN6 pin #6 in a spare cable to nop the squelch. So, direwolf/Xastir did transmit sound at those original alsamixer and FT-817 settings below: ===== ALSA Controls for Radio Transmit ===== < (I just had to fix Tansmit to Transmit, compulsive speller!) LO Driver Gain L:[-6.00dB] R:[-6.00dB] PCM L:[-16.50dB] R:[-16.50dB] DAC Playback PT L:[PTM_P3] R:[PTM_P3] LO Playback CM [ Full Chip CM] ===== ALSA Controls for Radio Receive ===== ADC Level L:[-2.00dB] R:[-2.00dB] IN1 L:[Off] R:[Off] IN2 L:[10 kOhm] R:[10 kOhm] The FT-817 [menu #25] DIG MIC is set 65 as was recommended. However, using fldigi, the FT-817 was transmitting noise with high ALC with the settings above. I played with the sound and rig input settings until I got to the following settings: ===== ALSA Controls for Radio Transmit ===== < (again) LO Driver Gain L:[-2.00dB] R:[-2.00dB] PCM L:[-8.00dB] R:[-8.00dB] DAC Playback PT L:[PTM_P1] R:[PTM_P1] LO Playback CM [Full Chip CM] ===== ALSA Controls for Radio Receive ===== ADC Level L:[-2.00dB] R:[-2.00dB] IN1 L:[Off] R:[Off] IN2 L:[10 kOhm] R:[10 kOhm] The FT-817 [menu #25] DIG MIC is set to 25 instead of 65. There is no ALC reading (1 bar or less), signal looked very clean on the panadapter scope and immediately had a QSO with HI8MU in the Dominican Republic and received RSQ of 599 - running 5W with a GAP Titan vertical on 20 meters. I think that qualifies as success. Using the same settings had an wsjt-x FT8 20M QSO with KC9FLD in Dubuque, IA received a -22 report but no retransmits - I consider that a success. Again the ALC was one bar or less. The changes in settings has no effect on direwolf/Xastir performance. I am going to alter the local script to set up the FT-817 this way. I won't have to re-adjust the FT-817 [menu #25] DIG MIC setting again since this is the new TNC/sound card. 😊 Now back to the IC-7000! KD4IZ Jack Spitznagel FM19oo

Looking at the inside you can see that there are four supports for both the top of the DRAWS hat and the bottom of the pi. The two tall screw towers are the only ones useable for fastening the case shut, which is non-optimal, but it actually fits snugly with no screws at all.
If you look at the scad file you can see how the powerpole mount works — there are tiny details that engage the roll pin holes. It is easy to install and remove but it doesn’t come loose during use. This detail was the main purpose of the case design. Everything else got very little attention.
Please note that the design is a remix of Thingiverse 2985738

Fixing the card issue should be pretty easy. I didn’t care enough to reprint since I don’t need it, but if there is interest we can make it a customizable SCAD. The only changes I would make is to move the screw holes to the bottom, and perhaps add protective wings around the GPS connector. — Brian N0KZ
