Yep. I confirm that's also what I see.

so I'll back up unless and try again unless you plan to
change the image so those steps are not needed.
This is easily fixed with what I previously posted so will not be
releasing a new image for that. The xs_install.sh script already fixes
this problem.

sudo su
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get -y -qq install shapelib libshp-dev libgeotiff-dev libwebp-dev
libgraphicsmagick1-dev

Hi Jack,

The following is what I did from a clean install of image15 to get Xastir to run.
I tried to run Xastir from just a clean install & I received this error:

xastir: error while loading shared libraries: libgeotiff.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

After doing the following Xastir ran fine.

apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get -y -qq install shapelib libshp-dev libgeotiff-dev libwebp-dev libgraphicsmagick1-dev
shutdown -r now

Thanks Jack.

If you can't get xastir to start from clicking the desktop icon then
open a console and run xastir from the console. Doing this will display
any problems that may be occurring that you won't see from clicking the
desktop icon.

I'll do a fresh install later today to see if I can replicate.

Made new mD6 cable (actually removed pin 6 from one end of a standard cable)

Using another receiver to test output.

Result is harsh audio with very faint expected modulation sounds underneath.
Insufficient to register any power out on the FT817 with a 100mw power mete attached.
Both cables had same result.

FT817 works perfectly for FT8 on all other configurations - Rigblaster on PC, or Pi with USB card (a la KM4ACK build)

I want to get the hat working as it would integrate perfectly inside my uBITXv6 case - elegant.

What can I try next?

Another suggestion is to do a hard reset on the FT-817 itself to make sure none of the internal settings for audio / accessory port have been changed.

I note in the Github link you are using mDi6 Pin3 for PTT.  I am using USB Cat cable.  That part is all good.

Sorry for the lag.

I am jealous that you are working on this as I'm trying to complete some
other things at the moment. I really want to get URONODE & LinFBB BBS up on my
packet infrastructure machine.

I think uronode is well maintained and their docs are more up-to-date
than what's in the n7nix uronode install script.

Let us know how you make out with setting up uronode and getting the
node search plugin to work.

None of them, there's a separate port on the DRAWS that gives you a
TTL-level UART serial port.

THAT, is what you want for doing CAT. Or you provide a separate cable
hooked up via USB.

I'll ultimately be doing something similar with mine: plan is to use a
RTL-SDR to scan for activity and use the CAT interface on my FT-857D to
switch the VFO to that frequency to give me dual-watch capabilities,
APRS and WiFi operation from my phone; as it would seem a FM/SSB set
capable of HF/VHF/UHF doesn't exist.

I would answer if I had one, John. I have my Draws hat, but I haven't tried putting it on a Pi yet. I've been waiting for the bugs to get squished first. Otherwise, I'd suggest that maybe responses over a weekend are probably going to take a while. Maybe the guys will chime in now that it's working hours.
