DRAWS viability
I had a 128 sd card with my image all setup and working. so I just matched that size SSD and wrote the sd card image backup to the SSD and it went flawlessly. I still maintain the sd card as a backup.

Pi es Hat temperature
I was asked in another group, one for JS8, what I was doing about temperature on my Pi. Here is my response and pic of my fan install. I have been getting mid to upper 60's C, with one time I noted 71

It’s on the barrel. I was only curious as I’ve been playing with my back up battery to run JS8 as a test of my emergency station. Kevin, K3VIN

New 12v setup
Here is a photo of my new setup running off of a 14ah battery. I was running the 817 with 2.5 watts. The only thing left is a monitor dedicated to the Pi so I don't have to VNC into it. Kevin, K3VIN

Follow-up question: I know I have seen it in the docs, but cannot find now. I need to adjust the baud rate for the 817. I am using the 706_817 alsa, and the 706 is working fine. I just can't remember

IC-706 has PTT and is decoding JS8. I do not appear to be sending out any signal, which is probably an ALC or other setting in the rig that I have to figure out. This is the first time I am using this

On the DRAWS hat, shouldn't the soundcard show up as some version of a codec? I saw that somewhere, but I only have variations of /tty in my JS8 software list and FLRig on the pi image. Kevin
